Marinated Chicken Wings (Asian style)

This one came from my Mother, when we were young she would have night where we would do an all Asian-Inspired menu and this was one of the things we really loved. They are simple to make but you definitely need to plan ahead (takes a day to marinate).

Difficulty Beginner
Time
Prep Time: 24 hour Cook Time: 1 hour Total Time: 25 hrs
Servings 8
Ingredients
  • 15 ounces Soy Sauce (One bottle)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 4 pounds Chicken Wings (4 to 5 lbs is the common size packaging so that's what this is based on.)
Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients (except chicken) together in a bowl, make sure to mix well.

  2. Put the chicken in a large zip top bag and dump the sauce mixture over the top of it as well. Seal and store in the refrigerator for 24 hours, mix it around a couple times during the process. We often marinate it right in the baking pan we are going to use to cook it, just cover it well.

  3. If you marinated it in a bag, dump it all in a baking dish. Cover it and bake it in the over at 350 degrees for 1.5 hours.

Note

These will nearly fall off the bone so they can be messy. They will be salty due to the Soy Sauce but you can help by using the Low Sodium variety.

Thanks for visiting my site and looking at my recipes. I am by no means a chef of any kind but I love to tinker in the kitchen and am always looking for recipes to share with my family. I learned my way around the kitchen when I was a kid growing up in Central Wisconsin, and strive to make sure my kids learn as well, so you will see a number of recipes that they can help with or even try to tackle on their own.
